Eye Tracking

The VCNLab houses three EyeLink II head-mounted eye tracking systems, which can sample at a rate of up to 500 Hz. The systems can be used for fixation and saccade analyses, smooth pursuit studies, and gaze-contingent display applications. Two adjustable eye cameras enable binocular tracking, and the optical head-tracking camera enables correction for small head movements during experiments.

 

VCNLab researchers use eye tracking for a variety of purposes. For example, we currently are investigating the role of eye movements in learning to recognize faces, and the way in which learning and eye movements interact with age.

 

Our eye tracking research is funded with generous support from CFI, OIT, McMaster, NSERC, CIHR and the Canada Research Chair program.
